PEEK: A Durable and Strong Thermoplastic
The idea of preparing Peek Polyetheretherketone or other high temperature resins can propel nervous shakes through a molder’s body. As a molder who cultured the craft diet of PE and PP closures with their extremely low melting temperatures, the first experience was unforgettable.

The first PEEK experience of many molders made them nervous to say the least. But molders realize that PEEK is merely another resin and, similar to the others, can be molded securely and professionally with just a small number of precautions.
PEEK is extensively thought to be 1 of the most durable and extremely good performing thermoplastics on the marketplace and its properties more than defend any tribulations one may come across processing it. The properties of PEEK are as follows:
1) a linear aromatic
2) semi-crystalline thermoplastic which possesses excellent wear
3) Chemical and hydrolysis resistance
It has extremely low smoke toxicity and outstanding electrical properties that rule out the requirement for additives in a lot of cases. PEEK processes at a melt temperature which is around 720°F, and for that reason both the controls and press barrel must be competent of this. On a lot of molding machines the there is an option of high heat.
